I do not know where to begin with this week's WCW: Miss Candace Parker. From being a two time NCAA champion in college to the first pick overall in the WNBA draft to receiving two All-Star MVPs and three Gold Medals with the Women’s USA Basketball. Parker is the true definition of a winner. In her rookie season, she came out blazing! Candace scored a career-high 40 points with 16 rebounds and 6 assists. She was the first WNBA player to win both Rookie of the Year and the MVP awards in the same season. Her sophomore year, she became pregnant with a baby girl, Lailaa. One thing I can admire about Candace is while being the star player on the Sparks, she is an amazing mommy to Lailaa. Seeing Parker and her daughter’s relationship really shows women that it is possible to balance your career and being a full time mommy. Lailaa always seen by her mother’s side. During Candace’s career, she has shown nothing but resilience. Having comeback seasons after her pregnancy and injuries. She is a dedicated baller! Not only is Parker a mother and a WNBA All-Star, she is a hell of a broadcaster. I love to see on ESPN giving her insight on the game she loves.
